Florida Hospital Waterman is pleased to announce the opening of its new Rehabilitation Institute for speech, physical and occupational therapy services.  The Rehabilitation Institute, formerly known as The Center for Rehabilitation and Wellness, which has served the community since 1992 from its facility at the Golden Triangle YMCA, has moved to the main campus of the hospital on Highway 441 in Tavares, Florida.

Due  to the growing population of Lake County and the expansion of our services we have felt the need to move to a larger facility, which will enable us to better serve the community.  We now offer diverse programs in physical, speech and occupational therapy. The Institute continues to provide skilled therapy services for: orthopedic injuries, surgeries, neurological disorders, lymphedema, hand therapy and splinting.  New services include: a gait-assist program for ambulation, incontinence treatment and balance training.  In addition, a state-of-the-art heated therapy pool allows for increased flexibility in our aquatic therapy program.

On August 9^th 2005 we celebrated the grand opening of the Rehabilitation Institute with an open house for the community.  More than one hundred guests including community leaders and physicians had the opportunity to meet our staff and tour our new facility.  It was a huge success!
